Overview: What is a feasibility study?
Simply put, a feasibility study is a practicality assessment for your proposed project. It is our intent to build every major remodeling project that is presented to us, but there is no sense in sinking time, money, and energy into a project that isn’t likely to produce the expected results for our clients. Therefore, we must perform the following steps:
- Is this plan operationally feasible?
First, your project must align within our business model. Your potential project must achieve the SOLUTIONS you are hoping for, and there are likely multiple ways to achieve the best solution. We will help analyze the possibilities. - Is this plan technically feasible?
We will analyze and assess specific conditions of your existing home and property and bring to your attention any items that would have to be addressed in order to move forward with your project. (We will need you to provide your existing plat/plot plan). - Is this project allowed by your local governing officials?
We will perform preliminary research into jurisdictional regulations and requirements, such as specific regulations by your local governing officials (zoning, health department, building permits & licensing, HOA requirements, etc.). It is extremely difficult to uncover all potential barriers or regulations during this initial stage for various reasons. - Is this plan feasible within your desired period of time?
We will propose the amount of time that will be required to perform all preliminary steps to develop your project, and how long it will then take to complete your project once construction begins. It’s important that we establish a realistic schedule and mutually dedicate ourselves to it, not only during the development of the drawings and specifications, but also for the actual construction schedule and estimated completion date. - Is this plan economically feasible?
Finally, we reach the most obvious of the feasibility questions. Based on the results of our efforts as described above, we will propose an accurate amount of your estimated capital investment requirement in order to properly complete your project.
