Plan Your Perfect Maryland Home Addition in 5 Steps

Has your family outgrown your living space? Are you constantly tripping over clutter that doesn’t have a place? Do you wish you had a room for guests to stay over—or, at the very least, an additional bathroom for your teenage children?

Whether you’re a family with growing children or an adult couple looking to take in your aging parents, if you’re out of space, it may be time to consider a home addition!

Adding on to your home can give you the room you need to grow, while allowing you the comfort of staying in your own home. Additions can transform the home you love into one you’ve only dreamed about, all while keeping its original charm.

When you choose to work with Design Build Remodeling Group, we make home additions simple. In just 5 easy steps, we can plan, design, and build an addition to meet the needs of your family.

Step 1: In-Home Consultation

We understand your love for the home you have, so we work with you to improve it without disrupting any original architecture or style. During our FREE in-home consultation, we come to you to discuss home addition ideas and give you general estimates of project costs based on what we observe. Every project is customized to our client’s unique needs and wants, so we take time to get to know you and your home before we begin design and construction.

Step 2: Design Creation

After the initial conversation, our design experts will take all of your ideas and turn them into a visual. We will review all of the custom design drawings with you, and you will select the project you’d like us to move forward with. If you’d like us to go back to the drawing board, no worries!

We want you to love your new home addition, so if you decide not to move forward after the initial design, it’s not a problem. If you reconsider within twelve months, we will give you credit towards your new design!

Step 3: Retainer & Contract

Once you’ve decided on a design, it’s time to review the plan. We will visit your home again to finalize all project plans and assist you in selecting any finishing touches. All that’s left in the planning process is the contract. If you are ready to move forward and agree to the contract, you will sign and return it to us.

Then, let the construction begin!

Step 4: Construction

At Design Build Remodeling Group, we understand that this is your home. You live in it every day, and you don’t want your daily routine disrupted by noisy construction workers. We do our best to be respectful of your space and treat your home as if it were our own. Our excellent team works diligently to complete your construction in a timely manner—we are dedicated to your project from start to finish.

After construction, we will do a final walk-through of your home with you to make sure it’s completed exactly the way you wanted.

Step 5: Enjoy your New Home Addition!

Your home addition is complete, which means it’s time to relax and enjoy your new space. We strive for perfection, and hope you enjoy all of the extra room for many years to come. However, if any defects by our craftsmanship are found, we’ll promptly repair our mistake. All of our work is guaranteed for two years—so you can rest easy!
